Alberta right now is a perfect example of why having a second legislative house is important. An overzealous, ideologically hidebound government with a majority can ram through some horrific legislation when there is no cross check.

Smith loves to yammer on about "legislative supremacy/sovereignty", but her government has abused its powers enormously, with what will be catastrophic long term consequences that will be borne by Albertans.

This reality should be enough to give any rational voter pause before endorsing this proposition.
